During the workshop, participants will join children from Hajime Jyuku to discover a multi-dimensional maze created by artist Wit Pimkanchanapong as part of the Planetary Seed ● จร ● 惑星的共自在性 exhibition. This ever-changing installation has captivated both kids and adults alike since its debut, becoming a playground of endless possibilities.

Through this experience, the children will not only navigate the maze but also unleash their creative intuition. They will work together to "make their own planet" within Planetary Seed ● จร ● 惑星的共自在性 by designing extensions to the maze, bringing their imaginations to life, and contributing to the installation. This workshop also fosters connections between children from different backgrounds, languages, and ages, encouraging collaboration and mutual understanding.

Join us for an afternoon of exploration and creativity, and be a part of this exciting event! The workshop is free, but space is limited to 20 participants. After the workshop concludes, the afternoon will continue with a short storytelling session from Hajime Jyuku, followed by a screening of Popil (2018) by Khvay Samnang. The day will culminate with a Noh play performed by the children from Hajime Jyuku, presented in their own unique interpretation. Noh, a traditional Japanese theatrical art form, combines dance, music, and drama to express profound stories and emotions. At Hajime Jyuku, Noh is integrated into their daily routine, and this year’s program is presented in collaboration with Planetary Seed ● จร ● 惑星的共自在性 at 100 Tonson Foundation.

About Hajime Jyuku:

Hajime Juyku has been dedicated to providing personal, peer-connected education for nearly 100 years, now in its third generation since its foundation. Unlike homogenized education, Hajime Jyuku emphasizes individuality and community. The children live together in a boarding house, sharing meals around the table with the host family, creating a close-knit, family-like environment. Their daily lives include studying, engaging in farm work, encounters with a diverse range of people, and fully immersing themselves in these activities.
