A Minor History Special Program | As part of the annual Galleries Nights Bangkok 2021 and in partnership with the Embassy of France in Bangkok, we will present a live poetry reading by young Thai poet Mek Krung Fah, who also provided the audio voiceover for A Minor History Part 1.

Please join a special event of live poetry reading by Mek Krung Fah (meaning “the half-cloudy sky”), a young talented Isan poet who collaborates with Apichatpong Weerasethakul in his latest video installation, A Minor History, which is currently on display at 100 Tonson Foundation. The poet will present his new piece, Unsubjected Verses, which is based around his interpretation of A Minor History and his experiences as a member of the young generation in Thailand. The work reflects the shifting views and beliefs and questions the meaning of self, hope, and freedom in a time of transition.

In this work, Mek Krung Fah is joined by Teerawat ‘Ka-ge’ Mulvilai, the director and performing artist from B-floor Theatre, and Akaritcharlerm Kalyanamitr, the sound designer who has been responsible for the sound design and mixing of all of Apichatpong’s works.

The 8^th edition of Galleries’ Nights Bangkok under the theme ‘Art is the Solution’ is organized by the French Embassy in Thailand, with more than 70 galleries participating. About Mek Krung Fah

Mek Krung Fah was born and raised on the banks of the Chi River in Roi Et province. Graduated with a liberal arts degree, the young poet won the third Free Write Award in 2018. In Apichatpong’s A Minor History video installation, the poet composes a fictional tale and impersonates a man and his lover as they are strolling along the riverbank. The narration is done in an old cinema and radio drama dubbing style from a bygone era.

กิจกรรมการอ่านกวีนิพนธ์โดย เมฆ’ครึ่งฟ้า กวีหนุ่มชาวอีสานผู้มากความสามารถที่ร่วมงานกับ อภิชาติพงศ์ วีระเศรษฐกุล ในผลงานวิดีโอจัดวางชิ้นล่าสุดของเขา ประวัติศาสตร์กระจ้อยร่อย (A Minor History) ที่ปัจจุบันจัดแสดงอยู่ที่มูลนิธิ 100 ต้นสน เมฆ’ครึ่งฟ้าจะนำเสนอบทกวีชิ้นใหม่ของเขา บทกวีที่ไม่มีประธาน (Unsubjected Verses) ซึ่งสรรค์สร้างโดยอ้างอิงการตีความ A Minor History และประสบการณ์ของเขาในฐานะคนรุ่นใหม่ในประเทศไทย งานนี้มุ่งเน้นสะท้อนมุมมองและความเชื่อที่เปลี่ยนไปและตั้งคำถามถึงความหมายของตัวตน ความหวัง และเสรีภาพในช่วงเวลาแห่งการเปลี่ยนผ่าน

ในการอ่านบทกวีนิพนธ์ชิ้นนี้ เมฆ’ครึ่งฟ้า ร่วมมือกับ ธีระวัฒน์ “คาเงะ” มุลวิไล ผู้กำกับและศิลปินการแสดงจากกลุ่มละครบีฟลอร์ เธียเตอร์ (B-Floor Theatre) และ อัคริศเฉลิม กัลยาณมิตร ซาวด์ดีไซเนอร์ผู้ออกแบบและมิกซ์เสียงผลงานทั้งหมดของอภิชาติพงศ์

 

เกี่ยวกับ เมฆ’ครึ่งฟ้า

เมฆ’ครึ่งฟ้า เกิดและเติบโตริมฝั่งแม่น้ำชีในจังหวัดร้อยเอ็ด เขาจบการศึกษาด้านศิลปศาสตร์ ต่อมาในปี พ.ศ. 2561 เขาเป็นผู้ชนะการประกวดบทกวี ฟรีไรต์อวอร์ด (Free Write Award) ครั้งที่สาม ในผลงานวิดีโอจัดวาง ประวัติศาสตร์กระจ้อยร่อย (A Minor History) ของอภิชาติพงศ์ เขาแต่งเรื่องและพากย์เสียงด้วยตัวเอง โดยสวมบทชายหนุ่มและคนรักขณะที่พวกเขากำลังเดินพลอดรักริมโขง เขาใช้เทคนิคการพากย์เลียนแบบภาพยนตร์และละครวิทยุในอดีต
