100 Tonson Foundation and Steinway and Sons Thailand are pleased present a collaboration together with artist Udomsak Krisanamis.

The piano is a newly commissioned work by Krisanamis that sees him transform a white Essex Grand Piano upon an invitation by Steinway and Sons Thailand. This is informed by his long-standing approach of using non-traditional surfaces as canvases for his paintings. The smooth high gloss voluminous surface of the grand piano becomes a broad 3 dimensional canvas for the artist to paint and collage, working in collaboration with the artist Nawin Nuthong and his screen printing studio. The work on the piano took place at 100 Tonson Foundation when the silver cube inspired by Andy Warhol’s Factory and studio becomes an artist studio.

The piano will be on display at 100 Tonson Foundation until November 19th during which time guests are invited to play.

The piano will be part of a recital with Steinway together with a Steinway & Sons Grand Piano on November 18th as part of a larger community project initiated by the collaborators with the view of providing access to piano lessons for at-risk youths. The proceeds from the sale of the work will be donated to SATI Foundation where weekly piano lessons will be provided for youths and children for one year.

The collaboration will manifest itself in the project, "Steinway To Heaven" that will be incorporated in the final part of ALL IS PRETTIER. and  brings to close Krisanamis’ six-month long project at 100 Tonson Foundation
