Memento Mori Embroidery Workshop
Conducted by Jakkai Siributr

Memento Mori Embroidery Workshop invites its participants to deal with grief, loss, and bereavement through communal participation and sharing. Acting symbolically as a reminder of the inevitability of death, the workshop engages the participants in embroidering and sewing techniques on the garments that once belonged to their loved ones to reinforce the notion of the therapeutic act of remembering. By way of holding those garments, touching them, and working on them, the participants find a creative and healing space to process their grief and to connect with others who share similar experiences, thus finding solace in solidarity.

Workshop participants are required to bring their old fabrics—whether it be clothes, garments, or any other textile—with sentimental value from their lost, loved ones to be included in their Memento Mori.
Memento Mori Workshop will be held in 2 sessions on Saturday, December 16th, 2023
at 100 Tonson Foundation.

■ Morning session 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM
■ Afternoon session 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM
