Timeless Blossoms — Ikebana Workshop
by Mattana Snidvongs na Ayudhya

100 Tonson Foundation is pleased to invite you to Matrilineal’s second workshop, Timeless Blossoms, an Ikebana arrangement workshop conducted by Mattana Snidvongs na Ayudhya.

Providing a visually striking and emotionally resonant experience, the floral artist Mattana Snidvongs na Ayudhya will be conducting the Ikebana workshop to reflect on the ephemeral and transitory nature of life – sentiments that underpin the framework of the exhibition. Further to this, the workshop is intended to honour Jakkai Siributr’s grandmother, Mom Samoe, and her memory as an Ikebana expert.

“Timeless Blossoms” invites participants to delve into the art of Ikebana by finding beauty in the circle of life. To do so, the workshop takes a dualistic approach, combining the vibrancy of fresh flowers with the fading grace of dried plants. The central theme of the “Timeless Blossoms” revolves, in fact, around the act of blending past and present, creating arrangements that echo the enduring elegance found in the passage of time.

In addition to the designed workshop, Mattana will create and display a series of Ikebana arrangements for the entire duration of the exhibition, using the same vessels Mom Samoe used for her arrangements, establishing a dialogue with each of Jakkai Siributr's work in Matrilineal.
